“That’s the thing about marriage: You don’t want anyone to see the flaws. The cracks, the imperfections. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to maintain the quality of the marriage.”
‘There will be plenty of time for grown-up secrets when you’re older.’”
I smirk, crossing my arms over my chest. Please. Give me a reason to hit you.
“When someone pushes you away, you need to find the strength to hold on tighter.”
You’re fed a fairytale when you’re younger, and so you try everything in your power to make that fairytale come true. You don’t see the signs along the way, the red flags. Or maybe you do, and you just don’t realize how bad things will be until you get there.
strong or weak, it doesn’t matter. Anybody can be a victim of abuse. Getting hit doesn’t mean you aren’t strong. It means you haven’t learned your worth yet.”

The right person won’t ask you to sacrifice who you are for his love. Losing yourself in a relationship is never an option. You’re the most important thing you’ve got. You can love someone with your whole heart and still stay true to yourself. If he doesn’t like that, then he’s not the one for you.
I’ve just learned to breathe around the hole in my heart.
