Me and her, a thousand moments, a million kisses, endless desire, lust, love.
Not while I felt her like that. Not while my need for her grew so potent that I could do little more than wallow in it.
I could feel her lips against mine, her hands on my skin, in my hair, fisting there, pulling me closer, no part of me wanting to refuse.
She was it. And if some piece of her had found its way to me here then I would gladly be a slave to that magic. Aching for her was becoming too much to bear and this taste of near reality was too tempting to ...

“One night. You can relive the love which burned between you for a single night and it will feel as real as it did when you lived it. You will be able to touch her, kiss her, taste her, fuck her, you will feel it all and so will she. You can even pick the memories, relive whichever you want as many times as you wish between now and sunrise and we will get to taste the heat of that passion while it roars.”
there was only her.
“You’re ravenous, dude,” she mumbled, her spine arching like a cat while that word built a growl in the back of my throat. “What have I told you about that word?” I asked and her eyes flickered open in surprise as she realised I wasn’t beside her at all, a flash of confusion passing over her features as she spotted me by the door. “What word?” she asked innocently, refusing to so much as blink at the illusion I was using on her. “I’m not your dude.” She smiled tauntingly, rolling onto her back and leaning on her elbows as she looked at me. “Sure you are. We hang out, go running together, grab

“We have the same friends, we like to party, we even-”
“If I were simply one of your dudes, you wouldn’t purr for me so prettily,”
“I think your jealousy runs so deep that you won’t be able to stand it,” she replied. “Remember when we were in that amplification chamber with Caleb and-” “No,” I snarled, heat tearing through my core as I took a step closer to her, the illusion reaching down to unbuckle his belt. “I only remember you. Only ever you.”
“You really think you can concentrate on keeping it up once I’m riding you?” she asked, the doubt in her voice clear. “You usually forget your own name when I remind you who owns you, baby. I just don’t believe-”
“I fucking love you,”
“Prove it then, asshole,”
“If you come on his cock, I’m going to break the illusion and fuck that perfect ass of yours,” I warned her in a low tone.
“By the stars, I don’t think any man has ever wanted anything more than I want you, Roxy,”
“Yes,” she panted. “Please.” “Fuck.” Roxy only begged when she was too turned on to care,
“Mine,” she growled, sounding just like a Dragon as she claimed me, and I smirked like a lucky motherfucker.
dangerous about them too. Because within the perilous
my wife,
Roxanya Vega wouldn’t take no for an answer when she set her mind on something she wanted, and the stars themselves should be trembling at the thought of her wrath turning their way.
“Yes, thank the heavens that you didn’t have to see it and suffer the crippling inferiority complex brought on by the comparison,”
“You can enjoy a dick comparison with your son-in-law later, Hail,”
“You need to head to Roxanya. See if you can contact her – if any of us stands a chance then it is you,”
my wife’s grief dancing across my flesh like soft fingertips. She’d been aching for me ever since leaving that clearing with the Nymphs, her heart torn open and bloody again.
I’d been avoiding her like the coward I was, my guilt over the pain I was causing her keeping me away. But it was little more than a thought to give in to her now.
“Sometimes I think I feel you,” she breathed to the silent room, her tears stalling, a rattling breath drawn into her lungs. “It’s like you’re just there, in the next room, about to walk in and ruin my life all over again. I wish you were. Or maybe I wish I’d never met you at all so I wouldn’t have had to feel what it was to lose you.”
“You haven’t lost me,” I replied firmly, focusing on the point of contact between us, pressing all that I was into the sensation of her flesh next to mine, my fingers in her hair, willing her to feel it, to feel me and know I would never truly leave her.
Roxanya Vega wasn’t built to wallow and cower. At the depths of her fire-drenched soul, she was a warrior through and through. And she needed to get her heart back into the fight.
Fate might have shifted but fuck that. This woman had chosen her own fate more than once before and I knew she wouldn’t be guided by the stars alone.
Our love for his daughter was more powerful than any rivalry or pettiness which might have been between us, and we both knew it.
“Because right now, my wife needs me and I made an oath to be her creature, to love and protect her into death and beyond. If you can help me then please do. If not, don’t get in my way because the only thing that would cause me to waste time on warring with you in this moment would be that. But I assume we can agree that nothing matters more than helping her right now.”
“I can see why she picked you in the end, even if you had proven yourself to be a son of a bitch,”
“When it comes down to it, you’d burn the entire fucking world to ash for a single smile from her lips, wouldn’t you?”
But you are selfish when it comes to her, utterly, unerringly selfish. She’s the one and only thing you won’t ever question, the one thing you put above all else. If the world had to end to see her safe, you’d light the fuse that blew it from existence.” “Damn right I would,”
He moulded me into a villain and so that’s what I am. For her. For him. Damnation isn’t good enough for that piece of shit. And heroics aren’t good enough for her. So hand me the fuse, oh Savage King, because I’m ready to burn it all.”
“Have I earned it then?” I asked, unwilling to let that comment pass. Hail paused, his eyes rolling over me from head to toe, lips pursing. “I suppose we’ll see.”
Maybe I wanted to be able to return to my wife and tell her that her father didn’t despise the choice she’d made when picking me.
“Roxanya has summoned the power of ether once again. She has created a dark artefact which will help her stave off death if it comes calling for her.” “She succeeded in that?” I breathed fearfully, hope and fear mixing at the thought of Roxanya wielding such dangerous magic. But if the things Gabriel had seen about this night were even close to true, then I knew she was going to need every advantage she could get to survive it. “She did,” Hail confirmed, pride clear in his voice and Darius smiled darkly.
Roxanya didn’t hesitate, darting through the door which Hail slammed behind her right before the guards I’d felt coming appeared around the next corner.
Darius looked to Hail in surprise, the weight of the trust he was placing upon him leaving him stunned.
The Dragon threw his arm out to cast at my wife and a snarl escaped me,
She had come all this way to reclaim the other half of her soul, the one person who might be able to help her find her way back to herself from the pit of grief that had consumed her since my death. She needed her twin more than she needed air to breathe and if Gwen didn’t go with her now, then I knew it was going to break her more thoroughly than she could ever recover from.
“Don’t do this to her,” I breathed, imploring, hating myself for the words, knowing Lance needed her too. But Roxy was already on the edge, she had been fighting to hold herself together for nothing other than the girl standing before her and if she lost her too then I feared what would come of it.
Of course she didn’t run. That woman had been created without the capability to flee. She didn’t back down from a fight and certainly not from one which involved her sister.
Her pain pierced my flesh, every slice and bite and break resounding through me so I could feel all of it too and I latched onto it, drawing it away from her, offering what help I could while The Veil still held me in its clutches.
“That’s it, baby, fight it. Fight this fucked up fate and choose your own destiny,” I snarled, willing her to do it.
If she crossed over, she’d be with me again. But there wasn’t even a selfish part of me that could wish for that. Not for her. She was so full of life that I refused to even consider the option of death stealing her away.
I felt another soul who was so in tune with my own that he felt like an extension of myself. Caleb was coming. Caleb was almost here.
I continued to pour my strength into the love of my life,
But I met a girl who took one look at fate and said fuck you. She found her own path. She told me no when the stars gave us our one and only chance at being mated then told them no when they tried to keep us apart against her will. She stood before the wings of fate and told them to get fucked and she was right.
