Here’s to knowing you’re not the only one even if the people around you seem to have all found their place already. Here’s to being honest about what is true today. Here’s to not looking too far into the future or living too far in the past.
“Living with crisis is a major part of leaders’ lives. The crises come in two major varieties: (1) those that are not of their own making but are imposed on them from outside or within the system, and (2) those that are actually triggered by the leaders through doing precisely what they should be doing.”
Like roots in the ground or weeds in a garden, growth takes turns we don’t know how to plan for, but it may also yield blooms we didn’t dream to expect.
When a plant grows, it goes through necessary change, but it never goes back to a seed. It becomes something new. Maybe there’s no normal to get back to. Maybe there’s only you, doing the next right thing you know to do, and releasing yourself from the hallway.
Quinta Brunson: Do I like myself? Do I really like myself when I’m in a room by myself, when I’m with myself, do I like who I am?
