A serial killer went out of his way to return my most important belongings.
The serial killer in my apartment tucked me into bed after I passed out and he made sure to put my socks back on my feet so they wouldn’t get cold.
Telling a serial killer that I was planning on turning him in for money seems like a quick way to end up with a bullet in my skull.
“If you don’t stop talking about her like that, I’ll break your nose,”
“The charm attached is a silent panic alarm. You turn it on by clicking it five times. You’ll feel it vibrate, and it will send me an alert with your exact location. If you press it, I’ll come. No matter what.”
“You have to promise me that you won’t hurt Christian Reeves. Ever. I like him. I don’t want to wake up one morning to see that you murdered him because you’re jealous I’d rather fuck him than you.”
“It’s just…I don’t appreciate when people go along with whatever bullshit Edwin’s brain is making him believe. I don’t think it’s good for him. The point of hiring 24/7 care for him is that it gives him a routine to stick to, and routines are easier for him to remember. I’ve fired a dozen nurses for pretending to be Helen. I don’t allow people to lie to him.” “Oh,” I say, my heart squeezing painfully. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” He looks up at the sky and sighs. “Just don’t do it again.”

But I don’t love him. Not yet. Not when everything between us is so new and raw.
I sabotaged her birth control. I was so desperate to tie her to me forever that I replaced her pills.
“What’s your rush to get married? I’ve known you since September, Christian.”
She’s giving me a wedding as my Christmas present.
“Hey Gav?” His eyes flicker up to mine. “Do you remember what you said to me in the gym after I was shot? About how if anything happened to Elena, I’d do far worse than fire you?” His face turns three shades paler as I crack my neck and point my gun at his forehead. “Consider yourself lucky that I’m making it quick.”
“I killed the Silencer.” Christian scoffs. “We’re already married. You don’t have to flirt with me.”
