It’s a shame I’m already destined for Hell, because it’s not where angels belong. But I’m not going anywhere without her.
I never believed in love at first sight. I never believed in soulmates. I made peace with the idea of being alone, and I had even made peace with death. And then I met you.
You became my guardian angel. I will never let that sentiment go. If I wasn’t meant to love you, then fate would have let me pull that trigger. I may have saved you that night, but you saved me too.
God couldn’t keep me from you, because God isn’t real, but you are, and that’s all the motivation I would have needed to find you.”
“You’d start a war for love?” “For Elena? I wouldn’t just start a war. I’d win it.”
“I met Death.” I take my bottom lip in my teeth. “And?” Christian brushes a strand of hair back from my face, and looking deeply into my eyes, he whispers, “I told him to go fuck himself, because I’m not going anywhere without you.”
As Christian believes he owes his life to Elena, I believe I owe my life to you, the reader. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
