“I don’t want to hear another man’s name out of your mouth again, Elena.”
“Let me take you to dinner. Please?” After a second, he adds, “I’m not a man who says please often.”
“I don’t want to kill you, angel. I want to keep you all to myself. You’d better take off those rose-colored glasses and accept that the only place you belong is in my black heart.”
“They need to know what happens when they touch what’s mine, Elena. They’re going to convert religions, because they won’t be praying to God, they’ll be praying to me. Begging for my fucking mercy after I hunt them all down and show them the true meaning of fear.”
“If you’re so concerned about my humanity, Elena, then reach into my soul and find it, because I’m not sure I have any left.”
Prison is the least of their fucking problems right now. Can’t go to prison if you’re dead.
Bloody. Just the way I like my kills.
“Mr. Reeves thinks you’re pretty too, ‘cause he won’t stop looking at you.”
“You want my phone number? We must be getting serious, Mr. Reeves.” “I’ve been serious about you from the moment we met.”
“Do you believe in soulmates?” The corner of his mouth tilts into a smile. “Not until I found you.”
“Ellie, if you don’t think I’m going to spoil you rotten you are sorely mistaken.”
It’s a shame I’m already destined for Hell, because it’s not where angels belong. But I’m not going anywhere without her.
Elena made me taste happiness. Loving her was a drug I got addicted to after a single hit, and if I thought I’ve ever known what it was like to feel empty before, I was so wrong.
I would do anything for you. If you ask me to move the sun out of your eyes, I will push it with my bare hands. If you ask me for the moon, I will wrap it in a purple ribbon and hand it to you. If you ask me for all the stars in the sky, I will create an entire galaxy, just for you
If they’re dead, they’re free, and I’m not. I’ll never be free again.
“But you are worth that sacrifice. That’s why I’m still here.”
“What if I don’t want you to be gentle?” “Then I’ll love you violently instead.”
I love you so much that I would burn this world for you and all the people in it just to keep you all to myself.
“What about the Silencer?” “What about him?” “I belonged to him first,”
“When I told you that you made me believe in soulmates, I didn’t just mean in this lifetime, or even in this universe. My heart has always belonged to you, even if I didn’t know it at first. I would love you even if I had no heart to give you, because you are the sole reason for my existence. My soul would love you if we lived on different continents and spoke different languages. My soul would be tethered to you across oceans and mountains and harrowing canyons as black as my heart. My soul would be yours if I pulled the trigger the night we met, because not even death could keep us apart.

“Angel, never underestimate the power of a black American Express.”
I’d give her absolutely anything she desired if I got to call her my wife at the end of the day.
“What’s so funny, Elena Reeves?”
“You’d start a war for love?” “For Elena? I wouldn’t just start a war. I’d win it.”
Loving her is more important than revenge.
For the first time, I regret nearly ending my life. I almost missed out on the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
“I have the best daddy in the whole wide world.” I almost fucking bought Disney World for her after that.
“Violence is what I do best. It’s why you fell in love with me.”
I don’t want to be a killer. But I’ve been one from the moment I met Christian.
“I think that’s the harsh reality of being a woman,” my mother continues, “we’re always so focused on everyone else, that we forget we need to take care of ourselves, too.”
I hope life never steals the way she sees good in everyone.
“The only way I can save you is by letting you go.”
I don’t want an umbrella. I want to feel the ache in my bones from the cold tears of a million angels weeping for me.
