Sociopath

“Because when I’m invisible, I don’t have to worry about people noticing I’m different,” I replied candidly. “I feel safest when people can’t see me because that’s when I can just be myself.”

“You know what the worst part is? The worst part about being a sociopath?” I said. “It’s the loneliness. You wouldn’t think so, but it is. I want friends. I want to connect. But I can’t. It’s like I’m starving, but food makes me sick.”

‘Hi. My name’s David. I work in IT and I’m a Cancer.’ ”

“I know you love that baby,” he said. “Just because your love is different doesn’t mean it doesn’t count.”

“You care when it matters,” she whispered. “That’s all that matters.”
