These qualities caused study participants to report lower intentions to commit “morally questionable actions” that could result in personal or professional benefits but cause harm along the way, like bending rules and lying during negotiations. Most of the women surveyed also considered these acts “less permissible” and worthy of “harsher moral condemnation” than male participants.
