“Still, kinda weird that a guy who killed someone is standing in my kitchen.” She swept her gaze around the small room before letting her eyes fall back on me. “Feels like it should be scarier.”
I wanted her to pierce my skin with whatever torture had been inflicted on her. I wanted it stitched into my heart. I wanted it to be the end of me, just to keep it from being the end of her.
“And I’d happily let Officer Kinney slap the cuffs on me to hear you scream my name loud enough for them to hear.”
