For all he relished the pack run, his thoughts were at the house. He had to stop himself from going there, from finding Elijah by the fire or in whatever room he’d chosen, and bringing him to his own bed so he could lose himself in Elijah’s scent, in his body. So he could move with Elijah, indulge his whims and pleasures, sate and satisfy him until he never wanted to leave, then ask him to be there, to stay there. Forever. Because he was sure now that Elijah was perfect for his pack. For him. Too perfect to let go.

Victor arched beneath him, close to coming, and god, this was beyond unfair. The gorgeous shifter pack alpha was vers and so beautifully responsive? That knowledge would kill him.

He’d never heard of someone knotting before they were bonded. But then, nothing with Elijah went how he expected, so why would this?

It’d felt so right to be inside Elijah, to have Elijah inside him. Everyone made assumptions about what he liked in bed because of his looks and pack hierarchy, but if Elijah wanted to slow-bone him into the mattress until his need to come was so overwhelming he couldn’t remember his own name, well, Victor wouldn’t say no to that.

“I can cut the tether. I’ll sever it properly this time.” To Victor’s horror, his wolf growled, pushing to the forefront, demanding control. Victor gritted his teeth and pushed it back, chaining it down with everything he had.

Elijah was fucking perfect. His scent, his magic, his everything. No one was better for his pack, for him. He was such an idiot for trying to keep himself from this. Why deny himself? They were inevitable.

“You do realize this would be easier if you let us carry you.” Katrina huffed in exasperation. She was already taking more of his weight than Victor’s pride could handle. “Hey now, let him be the badass, stoic alpha to impress his mage,” Lauren said from his other side. “We aren’t helping him walk. We’re huddling under the protection of his strong, manly arms.”

“Our,” Victor said in a low, sleepy rumble. “What?” “You said your. They aren’t just my pack. It’s not just my bed. Not anymore.” Elijah blinked at him, then a slow, warm smile spread across his face. “Our pack?” Victor nodded. “Our bed?” When Elijah leaned in, there was nothing but the feeling of home and happiness in his kiss.
