Paul preached about marital relationships, child rearing, qualifications for church officers, stewardship, handling anger, on-the-job conduct, regard for government authorities, and many other practical concerns, and at the same time he wrote, “But we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. . . . For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Cor. 1:23; 2:2).
