I assumed he’d drive off right away, but he didn’t. It wasn’t until I made it into my apartment, turned on the light, and walked past the window that I noticed him drive away.
“Why did you even volunteer to be my date?” “Because I didn’t want anyone else to.”
“And I do like you, Daisy,” he breathed, dipping his head to press it against mine. “Stop telling me how I feel.”
“What happened to just existing?” “At this point, I don’t even know how to do that without you,” he grunted, dropping his forehead against mine. “I’ve never not wanted you, Juni. I’ve tried for years not to want you, but I can’t do it anymore. I want to be around you constantly.”
“You hate when I bring in treats.” Julian shook his head, his smile twisting. “I hate when I have to share your attention,”
“You have no idea how beautiful you are right now, do you? You told me that you’re mine, but baby, I’m yours. I’ve always been yours. And I’ve never wanted anything as much as I want you. I will always want you.”
