He may be hot but this was a matter of principle.
His gaze then fell to my hand which still had one of my rings moved to show I was married. His face fell.
“We’re just going over there to do a good deed for a pretty lady. Now everyone put on your best smiles and keep your heads held high.” I led the troops out my front door as we marched over to Georgia’s house.
Georgia walked into my life like a whirlwind. Now that I had gotten close to her I was swept up in her pretty words and even prettier eyes.
He turned back to us with a grin. That smile could light up entire oceans. Fuck lighthouses.
Those thighs were made for holding onto. My hands felt the urge to run over those sweet curves and memorize every inch of her.
Now he was just trying to fluster me on purpose. My hand reached into the powdered sugar that I left out on the counter and threw a handful across the counter at him. Time froze and my eyes widened at my own actions. His smile turned downright dirty and he yanked the bag toward his side of the island to grab his own handful.
Actually, I couldn’t remember a time when anyone had ever treated me the way Ashton did. Even in my past relationships, boyfriends never brought me food or lattes unless it was for a special occasion. Much less every day.
Staring at her was like looking at the sun for too long sometimes. She was so bright and lovely it physically hurt.
“Now is this your wife?” The older woman asked me pointedly. Shit. I wasn’t expecting Georgia to overhear this pretend family situation. She looked at me confused for a second before turning to the woman. Before she could speak I spoke for her. “Not yet.” Georgia’s eyes widened comically. She relaxed her face into a smile and put her hand on my arm. I was not expecting her to play along but now that she was I would never recover.
