“Because I am trying to cheat the fates and steal every moment I can have with you.”
“I’ve told you time and time again, that everything matters when it comes to you.”
“What about me? About what I feel? The pain that I carry? Does it matter to anyone?”
It mattered to her,
“What do your tears mean, Winter? I want to touch them and take them away, but if they are because of me, I will let you be.”
Not to her anyway. Not to the world, perhaps. He didn’t care for her to be different to anyone. If they knew how special she was, they'd want a piece, too, they’d want to tarnish her for the fun of it. And if they knew how special she was to him, they’d use her against him.

“One thousand times over, I’ll do it again, only so I could be with you even if it is only for seven days.”
“Live, Winter. Live wanting. Live deciding. Live for you. And live…for me, too. Make it good, my little sun. Make it really good. I want to hear all about it. I will wait this time. I will wait for you. Do not come to me. Do not seek me. Not unless you wish to break my heart.”
But Death had decided one was enough to save them all.
