“Have a good night, Winter,” he said, standing to leave. “No. I’ve decided against it.” He stopped and looked over his shoulder at her. “Decided against having a good night?” “Yes. I want to have a bad one. Live in your shoes for once and see how the other miserable and un-thankable side feels.”
“What if I want to disturb you?”
Her pulse went on a run again. “I cannot allow you to do that. The lives of many rely on you solving this.” “I’ll save them all if you give me your attention.”
“Live, Winter. Live wanting. Live deciding. Live for you. And live…for me, too. Make it good, my little sun. Make it really good. I want to hear all about it. I will wait this time. I will wait for you. Do not come to me. Do not seek me. Not unless you wish to break my heart.”
