Roughly three years after starting 43 Folders, Mann grew disillusioned with the promises of systems like GTD to transform work. These styles of productivity hacks, he wrote, didn’t end up making him feel “more competent, stable, and alive.” He refocused 43 Folders away from pure productivity and toward the woollier goal of producing better creative work. Then he stopped posting altogether.
