All I know is that I have to be near her. I have to know what she’s doing at all times. Her life from this moment on will never be the same. She’ll never walk alone again. I’ll be her shadow, and in the night, I’ll be her dark. I’ll consume her so she never knows loneliness again.
“I wanted death for so long. Nightmares are the only thing that live in my mind— at least they were. Every time I see you, those nightmares ease. I can’t be without you. No matter how close you are, no matter what you give me, I know it will never be enough. I will never be sated of you. I will always want more.”
“You’re just waiting for me, aren’t you? You know I’ll be there for you tonight. Drink, Demi. Drink, so I can come and haunt your dreams. Let me be your nightmare,”
“Your body is the light I never dreamed I’d touch.”
“Dream of me in the same way I live for you.”
Everyone is temporary in a way, but there are the few that refuse to leave, they plant roots in your soul, and weather every storm life throws at you.
She’s as close to home as I’ll ever get. She’s the feeling of walking through the door after a long day, relieved and ready to relax. She’s the ease after turmoil. The rainbow in the sun and rain.
