People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys

Contentment in life doesn’t come from the absence of conflict; it comes from not giving away our emotional control to the demands of other people. We learn how to be independent in our choices instead of being dependent on what other people do or think.

Neither one makes it any better, but a patient person doesn’t give away the control of her emotions to the other person by stewing about it the rest of the day.
