“That’s a very professional boner you’re sporting, Officer. What will the Warden think of that?”
That’s the feisty little pup I know and love.
All of my pack instincts, every Wolf need and desire I had suddenly angled toward her. She was the answer to everything. My equal in every way. My mate.
“Tell me who hurt you and I’ll see them dead a thousand times over,” Ethan snarled, stalking towards me with his Alpha Wolf peering out of his eyes and his instincts to protect me winning through.
“Stay,” Ethan asked, his tone raw with all the things he wouldn’t let himself consider for us. “Why?” I breathed. “You said I don’t know you. Well you don’t know me either. So stay and give me something real.”
“Don’t underestimate me, love,” I said against her ear, slowly extracting my hand and brushing my thumb across her clit as I did so, making her release a breathy moan. My free hand was splayed across her stomach and I found myself unable to let her go. For an endless second, I needed her more than anything. More than I needed water to live.
“Why did you come back for me?” she breathed as she broke the kiss. I brushed my fingers up her neck until my thumb caressed the crescent moon behind her ear. “Because you’re mine, love. Not even death can take you from me if I decide against it.”
That fucker was competition for a girl I couldn’t have. And hell if that didn’t make me want to forget the rules I’d made and claim her for my own.
“Not everyone. But you’re mine,” I growled fiercely.
