I sweep my foot out and knock him onto his ass, staring down at him on the wooden floorboards.
Kyler snatches the phone from my fingers and shoves it in my face to unlock it.
“M&M? You aren’t seriously giving me that as a nickname.” I have half a mind to pummel his ass to the ground, but that tiny voice in the back of my head reminds me that he’s my boss. “You’re tiny. Seems fitting.” “You’re an ass, but you don’t hear me calling you puckhole.”
“Relax,” he grunts and gestures for me to join him. “I don’t bite. Well, not unless you’re into that sort of thing.” And he winks at me. Fuck.
“Jackass,” I mutter under my breath. Bristol’s eyes widen. “You have to put a dollar in the swear jar.” She grabs my hand and drags me into the kitchen. On the marble countertop, there is a glass gallon-sized jar stuffed with one-dollar bills. “How about we don’t tell your dad what I said?” I try to bargain with the kid. It’s not the dollar that’s the issue. I don’t need her tattling to Kyler about the situation. He’s already questioning my ability as his daughter’s bodyguard. “We could tell her the truth, that we’ve been secretly dating, and you’re my girlfriend.”
“Seven. I want seven figures,” I say. “If I have to put up with your ass and pretend to like you, I won’t do it for a penny less.”
When the hell did I become a man obsessed with a woman? Let alone my daughter’s bodyguard?
“No, Em. I’d never make you wait. I wouldn’t want to deny you of any type of pleasure, ever.”
“I love you, Em. I’m not promising anything that I won’t follow through with.”
Her breath catches in her throat. “You love me?” she asks.
“You will have my baby, Em. We will get married. And you’ll let me worship your body and give me your heart because you love me.”
