She’s living in Spain now, I heard. I’m pretty sure the Spanish Flu is fairly under wraps now, but if it’s not, I do hope she catches it.
There aren’t a great many things I can control in this lifetime —I’m learning this now at the ripe old age of twenty-four. I can’t control how you see me, but I can control how I will be seen. And you will only ever see me very put together. You don’t need to know about the parts of me that aren’t.
The ease between us is something else. Not everyone has an ease how we do. It’s not an easy relationship and she’s not an easy person to be with. That’s not what I mean, she’s a fucking nightmare 900 per cent of the time, but the ease between us that’s probably a once in a lifetime kind of thing.
“Listen,” I scowl at him as I bite into an egg roll, “I don’t rag on you when you’re talking about things that you’re passionate about—like golf, which is stupid by the way—”
