Question for anyone familiar with IBLP: at what point is a young married couple allowed to take on the role of independence from their family? Jim Bob Dugger’s dad was alive until 2009. Was he still under his dad’s “umbrella”? And what if husband and wife both come from an IBLP family? Which family takes precedence in controlling the young couple? My gut tells me Mr. Dugger was making up the rules as they went along. But, i’m uneducated about this group and asking out of curiosity.
