“I think she looks regal.” “She looks like my third-grade teacher, a lot of man and very little wo.” “What?” “You know: heavy on the male, light on the fe.”
“Math?” “Yeah, math. Aren’t all you Asians really good at math?” “Don’t be racist. And I’m three-quarters Asian.” “‘Three-quarters.’ See? Math.
Jfc. Not only is this dude sexists, but he's racist too. How tf does this series have such good reviews? Not to mention this is the first mention of Ringer being part Asian, almost as if it was made up later on to try to be more diverse. But introducing that fact with a racist stereotype is fucking wild.
He leans forward and kisses me hard on the mouth. “Don’t ever do that again,” I tell him. “Why? Because you liked it or because you didn’t?” “Both.”
Everytime a kiss happens in this series, the guy forces it onto the girl. This is the 3rd time this has happened. The author must not be familiar with consent.
I stop. I turn. I grab his face with both hands and kiss him hard on the mouth. His eyes are wide and filled with something that closely resembles fear. “What was that for?” I kiss him again.
More forced kissing, but the girl is doing it now. Literally zero chemistry between these two characters, but they're somehow already making out, if you can call it that. The writing is getting lazier and lazier.
He’s off the cot before I can blink again, and he’s kissing me,
The dude has been lying to her this whole time and betrayed her, is currently guarding her so she can't run, but somehow thinks forcing ANOTHER kiss on her is somehow appropriate? This author really likes having the guys kiss the girls when they're in compromising positions with fucked up power dynamics going on. Its been a pattern throughout the series so far.
The only fool I’ve ever seen you suffer gladly is me. Ruined holidays, forgotten obligations, unheard questions. Nothing is more painful than the loneliness of being with someone who is never completely there. I’ve incurred a debt that is hopeless for me to repay, though I promise to try. Because, in the end, without love all our effort is wasted, all we do is in vain. Vincit qui patitur.
