They didn't make chairs to fit his lanky frame; he sat tall in my office chair as comfortably as possible, reminding me of a Great Dane secure in his alpha-status, quietly confident. There was no fight in his eyes: there was no need.

His hazel eyes fell away from mine. Shame. A throat-full of it nearly choked me from his side of the car as the Blue Sense tore into being like an avalanche down a ski hill. I had to grip the dashboard as I ducked into the passenger seat, bewildered by Chapel's rush of feeling. Was he embarrassed by the idea of me feeding Harry?

the Blue Sense flared so strongly that, for a second, my vision blurred. The eye flew out of my hand to the desk top with a small wet plip and I let it go gladly, shaking my hands clean. I didn't have time to wonder about it.

“Debasing yourself isn't as endearing as you think it is, and your playing dumb frustrates those who know you're more capable than you let on. You're a brilliant young lady with a doctorate to prove it, and friends in high places who respect your opinion and seek out your advice.” She waggled a prune-y finger up at me. “Don't dumb yourself down. You're not fooling anyone.”

I thought she let Harry wiggle out of this too easily. He absolutely lied to her and then let her twist in the wind for days before she had a suspicion about what was happening. And then to continue to do it in their home and act like it wasn’t a big deal is just not ok.
