The Mozilla Foundation has begun a large-scale effort to award “badges” for expertise learners acquire through more informal means. In conjunction with the MacArthur Foundation, Mozilla awarded over a million dollars earlier this year to fund innovative ways of re-envisioning how we identify expertise.
