Creatures resembling Bigfoot have been reported in virtually every state since the early 1960s, though Washington and Oregon continue to maintain the highest levels of reported sightings. The Southern states and Florida in particular even have their own cousin of Bigfoot, an unknown hominid that is said to inhabit remote areas and swamplands. Just like Bigfoot, what has become known as the Skunk Ape (also known as the Florida Bigfoot) is said to be a little smaller than the typical Bigfoot and characterized by a foul smell (hence the name).
