“Is it a date or more of a friend-thing?” I look at Matt in the mirror. He’s got his lips pulled into his mouth, a concentrated look on his face as he nods along to the quieted song playing from the radio. A piece of his bun has fallen out on the back of his neck, and it has a soft curl to it. He taps the steering wheel, his rhythm totally off, and I feel a smile spread across my face.
