Emotions cannot and must not rule our days, our lives. But equally, this is not a book about our controlling our emotions.
emotions are not meant to control us; they are meant to inform us.
Emotions are not the sin; it’s what we do with them that is the sin.
“Be angry and do not sin.”[12] The potential for sin seems to lie in our response to our anger.
By the time I found our son, he was crying. I wanted to kill him. But I’ve never been happier to see anyone in my life.
whenever we feel an emotion, we can use that feeling to spur us on toward God, or we can use it to sit there and sin.
You don’t have to tell everyone; you have to tell someone.
We think God is waiting for us to pull ourselves together, but actually He is waiting for us to come to Him and fall apart.
