“Words don’t mean anything. Anyone can promise me the moon, but I’ve never seen anyone pull it from the sky.”
“Mi fai venire voglia di dimenticare l'affare che ho fatto, bella,” he said in a tone that seriously tempted me to crawl across the table and climb into his lap. “What does that mean?” I asked. “That you make me want to forget the deal,” he replied. “And risk years of bad luck?” I teased. “I’m beginning to think you’d be worth it.” “I would be,” I agreed with a smirk before pulling my hand back.
“Che diavolo è successo, amore mio?” Dante’s panicked voice came to me in my fog of pain a moment before his hand met with the flesh of my back. I cried out again as he pushed healing magic beneath my skin, and slowly the agony retreated until all I was left with was the scent of smoke and the aching emptiness within me where my magic should have been.
“La vita è stata cattiva con te, amore mio,” Dante murmured, reaching out to catch my chin and tilt my gaze back to his again.
“Posso accettarlo.
“Ci sto,”
“Ti amo, Elise,”
Godiamoci questa pace finché dura,” Dante said, his fingers resuming their trail across my skin. I wasn’t sure what that meant, but I wasn’t going to argue either. I let my eyes fall shut as I listened to the steady thump of his heartbeat beneath my ear. Had Dante Oscura seriously just told me he loved me? And why the hell didn’t that feel as terrifying as it should have?
“Sei così fottutamente bello, Elise,”
Sono così eccitato da te che fa male. Riesco a malapena a trattenermi dal cadere a pezzi per te.”
“Can you taste cherries?” she breathed against my mouth. “No.” I brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. “I can taste my own soul, because it’s the exact same flavour as yours.”
“Sei più bella del sole,” I breathed in awe. “You look like the angel you are, Elise,” Gabriel said. “Fuck me on a toadstool,” Leon sighed. “You look gorgeous, little monster.” Ryder made a strained noise, sweeping a hand over his closely cropped hair.
“Noi siamo i tuoi schiavi, amore mio,” Dante purred. But before I could ask what that meant, they both pushed two fingers inside me.
“Non ho mai desiderato nessuno come te,” Dante said and I bit my lip as I wondered what he was saying.
“Mio Vampira,”
“Sarei stato tuo in un'altra vita, amore mio,” he said to me in a rough voice and though I had no idea what it meant it sounded horribly like he was letting me go.
