When you touch them your soul turns to fire, molding and dancing in their wicked flames, searching for the broken pieces of one another until time runs out and you’re damned, burning together forever.
It's not like little details that create a bigger picture are missing. It's like the very vital important pieces that would make this story make more sense are just witheld for wow factor. It's not great.

I feel like most multiple book fantasy series have a mystery per book, or one main mystery and each subsequent mystery ties into the main one. This on the other hand, has a single unanswered question that's dragging on for 336 pages.
