“Why’d you show me the city? That seems like something you normally do on your own.” I help unstrap the harness and face him once I’m out of it. He shrugs. “Sometimes it’s nice to share your experiences with someone new.” I furrow my brow. “Then you take new people just to get a kick of their terror?” He laughs again and relights his cigarette, taking a deep pull before answering. “You’re the only one I’ve ever taken on a line with me, babe.” My eyes widen and he reads the confusion on my face. “You just seemed like you could use a little boost like I always do.”
