“I love you back,” I blurted out, feeling a flood of heat rush through my body. “Like, a crazy fucking amount,” I added, giving his words back to him.

“Are you happy with yourself?” Johnny asked, glaring at Lizzie. “Did that make you feel good? Belittling him like that?”
“He’s dyslexic!” Johnny snapped. “And you just made him feel about two feet tall in front of half the school.”
“You teach people how to treat you by setting boundaries, lad. If you let someone walk all over you, they’re going to think it’s okay.”
