“I want what we have together. I want our friendship. I want your company. I want our conversations. I just want time with you. And I’m not in any rush. I don’t want you to feel like you don’t know where this is going, or when I’m kissing you that I’m looking for more than you’re ready to give. I won’t do that to you. I won’t take what you can’t give, and I won’t push, okay?” He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “Sex isn’t even important. It’s just one fucking part of it, a part that can wait for as long you want.”
“Tell me what to do?” I begged, holding her tight and growing more frantic with every desperate shiver and sob that tore from her body. “Tell me what you need and I’ll give it to you.” I pressed a kiss to her hair, wanting nothing more than to take this away for her. “Just tell me what you need from me.”
I grimaced. “Even the broken parts?” He winked. “Especially the broken parts.”
“I’m just trying to keep my head above water and not drown.” “You won’t drown. You’re a survivor,” he told me. “I’m not a good swimmer,” I admitted. “Then I’ll throw you a life jacket and swim out to get you,” he shot back, tucking me into his side. “Because I’m an excellent swimmer.”
“You’re my little darling,” he slurred. “My whole heart’s inside of ya.”
