He reveals His divinity. What they, as humans, consider impossible, He clearly demonstrates as possible; what they scorn as inappropriate, His goodness makes fitting; and what these so-called wise people laugh at as "human," He proves to be divine through His inherent power. In this way, by what appears to be His utter poverty and weakness on the cross, He overthrows the pomp and spectacle of idols and quietly, secretly persuades the mockers and unbelievers to recognize Him as God.
