Pain and whiskey and sex and blood. Fucking perfect.
“There’s nothing wrong with being broken,” I tell him quietly. He blinks, his long lashes sweeping down over his bright blue eyes and then back up again. “Some things aren’t meant to be whole. And some things don’t need to be fixed.”
“You do look like an angel of death. But a filthy one now.”
“You look ruined,” he goes on. “Are you ruined?” Am I? I’m still standing.
“You’re so fucking addictive,” he says, voice low. I swallow hard at his tone. “How the fuck am I supposed to not want you? You’re fierce as hell, strong as a fucking warrior, and you come so perfectly when I take you apart.”
“Come on, Toto,” Knox calls, giving the dog a new name like he does almost every time he talks to the mutt. He jerks his head with a whistle. “Back to Kansas.” Ash snorts at that. “I’m pretty sure this is Kansas, and we’re taking him back to Oz. That makes more sense.” “What does that make us? Munchkins?” Knox shoots back.
