You see, what happens in your life either confirms who you are, or it changes you. And I finally got my moment and stopped confirming, and started changing.
The core message of this book is that you can commu nicate with yourself differently, and in a way that raises you to a new level.
Average Sucks is all about moving past YOUR average, so that you can become who you want to be.
Your Average is the invisible wall that stops you from doing what you want to do, saying what you want to say and being who you want to be.
Your ambition is running around with Your Average like they’re best friends...and not getting anywhere.
Your Average is not your weakest behavior, Your Average is your most common behavior which is most often your weakest behavior.
“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.”
Everything in your life is either going to confirm who you are, or change you.
The challenge with being OK is that OK is OK as long as OK is OK, and OK is still OK if OK is OK, but OK is not OK as soon as OK is not OK anymore.
Convenience ruined our confidence.
The human brain loves to solve problems and is constantly search ing to solve challenges. Normal survival and the natural adversity we had in the world is already handled, so now it’s not uncommon to find people creating unnecessary social problems among the people around us, just to give our brains something to do. Take a look at all the harm social media is doing to the morale and confidence of teenagers of today and you’ll see a prime example.
So you want out of your box, you repeat a behavior that will raise Your Average, and then Your New Average will get you out of your box.
Change over time happens with repetition, and that rep etition will change your perspective which will change Your Average which will change who you are.
