Liao, the Plutonian Drug, is that Card which represents altered states of awareness and inebriation. But in the context of this Tarot the idea goes further. In the HP Lovecraft Deck, the Plutonian Drug is symbolic of a psychedelic frame of thinking, which enables the mind itself to actually travel back in time (which is what the Plutonian Drug does in Mythos fiction). This frame of mind integrates with a space of time before human logic, where the Elder Gods ruled the Cosmos and the Earth long before the beginning of our race. Care must always be taken with a mind frame that can effect time, as mistakes in Time Travel cannot be put right. Everything that is thrown backwards in time must therefore be ignored, but at the same time considered in its relevant context as the act of Worship within dimensions that only make sense in the context of Liao, the drug that makes this possible as integration into the occult.
