“I feel like I could eat the world raw.”
I thought of how many nights I had lain awake in this room loving him in silence.
I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.
I wanted to wake him and see those eyes open. A thousand thousand times I had seen it, but I never tired of it.
