The Wonderbox: Curious histories of how to live

The idea of a passionate, romantic relationship has hijacked the varieties of love honoured by the ancient Greeks. We now search for a partner who can not only satisfy our sexual desires, but also provide the deep friendship of philia, the playfulness of ludic love, the security of pragma, and make the selfless sacrifices of agape on our behalf, all of which should be sustained by a substantial dose of philautia, or self-love. The problem
