It was silly stuff, but Dad always managed to make everyone laugh. And sometimes that’s all you need to feel better.

Funny how sometimes you worry a lot about something and it turns out to be nothing.

I think there should be a rule that everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their lives.

“Sometimes people surprise us,”

‘Shall we make a new rule of life … always to try to be a little kinder than is necessary?’ ”

In fact, and I don’t mean to brag here, but it kind of felt like everyone wanted to get close to me.

Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much.
