I’m here, in the elven realm. Serenna couldn’t help but smile back, feeling like she’d been reborn into a better place. Already, their lands contained evidence of the inconceivable. The ground below the floating island shimmered. Serenna’s attention drifted upward to watch water tumbling from the isle, cascading down as waterfalls to be collected by the lake below. “How is this possible?” Velinya asked, gaping alongside the court members, who were staring in disbelief and awe. “Centarya’s creation was a massive project involving scores of elves wielding force abilities,” Jassyn said. “Tearing into the earth, they uprooted the landmass and cast it into the sky. Elves remained on the isle during its ascent to open the first gateways. Tying off their magic, the architects used the ground as an anchor to ensure the island would remain a permanent buoying structure. Every few years, the magus reestablish the magical moorings to stabilize the connection.” Jassyn pointed at the water. “The crater left behind is a lake, the Cyan Mere.”
