The CIA’s role in drug trafficking into the United States has been the subject of many magazine and newspaper articles, books, Congressional testimony, and television presentations. I first became aware of it in the 1950s while an airline pilot flying into Japan and while flying in the Middle East, out of Teheran, Beirut and other places. During matter-of-fact conversations with other pilots they described the drug loads they were carrying for CIA-related airlines.
