Within the body of the Messiah, Jews, and Gentiles are called to manifest reconciliation and unity, but this is not possible if either disappears as such. There is no difference in terms of salvation (cf. Gal 3:28; Col 3:11), but distinctions concerning function or role must continue to be maintained, as in the case of men and women or (in the context of the first century) of masters and slaves.
