A graduate of Harvard Law School, John had clerked in the Fourth Circuit for a prominent conservative judge, Michael Luttig, as well as for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. John had served as the US Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, and in several other high-ranking positions at the Department of Justice.
