So, it is clear and apparent what the intention and design of Christ and his Father were in this great work, and towards whom - namely, to save us, to deliver us from the evil world, to cleanse and purify us, to make us holy, zealous, and fruitful in good works, to make us acceptable, and to bring us to God; for through him "we have access into the grace wherein we stand" (Rom. 5:2).
