A French researcher claims that “excess fertility of immigrants compared with women born in France” is only half a child per female on average, taking into account the drop in fertility after immigrants settle in France.25 That is small comfort for the United Kingdom, where Muslims from the Indian subcontinent form the dominant group of immigrants. Pakistan with its 50 percent literacy rate still has a fertility rate of more than three children per woman. And Pakistani fertility survives emigration to Britain. According to the Population Research Bureau, Britain’s population will rise to 77 million in 2050 from 63 million today. More than half of new births will come from immigrant mothers, and it is not known how many of the remaining births will come from second-generation immigrants.26 It appears that Muslim immigrant fertility will make Britain the most populous European country by 2050. It may be that the threat of a “Londonistan” in the United Kingdom is insufficiently appreciated while the prospect of a Turkish takeover in West Germany and the Senegalization of France are exaggerated.
