A marketing group that was attempting to create a demand for grasshoppers as a gourmet food conducted some test marketing in which they tried to get Americans to eat the insects. They first tried using a relaxed and friendly spokesperson who presented his arguments in a pleasant manner. Few people tried the grasshoppers, and those who did disliked them. Next, they tried a spokesperson who was cold, distant, and hostile. Remarkably, more people tried and liked the grasshoppers.
This is funny considering that lots of tribes in Africa eat crickets, among other insects, as a delicacy.
