JFK questioned Brown extensively about the possibility of a neutral government under Souvanna that Britain, France, and the Soviet Union could all support, if the United States were to change policy.[24] Years later, Brown recalled his hour-long conversation with the president on a neutralist Laos as “a very, very moving experience.”[25]
