“Don’t do that again,” I said calmly.
I’ve got to admit, he was a scary bastard when he got pissed off, and at that moment, he couldn’t have been any angrier.
“You’re not going to talk to me like that. I’ve got enough problems of my own without putting up with your shit. Get an Uber, call your mom, I don’t care. I’m out.”
“What the fuck are you doing here?” he asked, so furious I feared for my life. If looks could kill, I was already dead, boxed up, and buried.
ran a finger carefully over that tattoo, so tiny compared to mine, and felt how both of us got goose bumps. Noah twitched unconsciously, and I felt something strange, uncomfortable, in the pit of my stomach.
I got up, arranged her against the pillows, and then stood there a moment, making sure her breathing was normal. It was. Noah was a strong girl.
“Nick, I love this chick. She needs to come out with us more often,”
“Don’t worry about that. I like women, not girls with pigtails and freckles.” “I never wear pigtails, dumbass.” I laughed and tried to relax. Now I did want to see her in pigtails!
Something got to me when I saw that picture of Noah kissing another guy. I suddenly wanted to punch anybody who decided to get in my way that night.
“What have you been smoking, little girl? You better stay as far as you can from where I’m going, hear me?”
I’d offered to do it not because I gave a damn about her getting revenge on her ex-boyfriend or wanted her out of the party; it was just pure desire. I wanted to taste her, to feel her. As soon as I saw her that night, I wanted to get between her legs and make her mine. It was uncomfortable, hellishly uncomfortable, and frustrating, especially since I couldn’t stand her. Why did she have to be so goddamn attractive?
rug. Well, I hate to tell you, Ronnie, but I forgot to mention that you’re racing against the daughter of a NASCAR champ.
“Yo, try to keep that bitch at home,” Ronnie said. That was when Nicholas lost it.
“I’ve been holding back with you… Dammit, you’re stuck in my head, and I can’t stop thinking of you,” he said, picking me up easily and forcing me to wrap my legs around his back.
“I’ll take you wherever you want to go,” he said, knitting his brows, as if not even he could believe what he was saying. I stalled and then finally responded, “No need.”
What the hell did a fight matter when I could be kissing those soft lips?
“It’s not like I don’t love holding you, Freckles, but if you don’t tell me what happened, I might draw the wrong conclusions, and I’ll wind up pounding the shit out of the wrong guy.”
“Please God tell me you didn’t fuck my other car up, too, and now you’ve come to me because you feel bad about it because I swear, all the kisses in the world won’t help that…”
hope you’re not stupid enough to let that asshole put his hands on you.”
Nothing would be as intense as the feelings I had for that girl now sleeping in my home.
“I called you Precious. For me, Freckles, that’s tantamount to asking for your hand in marriage.” He slid a lock of hair back behind my ear. “Your ex is looking out the window, by the way.”
“You can stop faking, Nicholas. No one’s here to see us.” “Who said I was faking?” That surprised me, threw me off-kilter. Fuck. What was I getting into?
don’t do anything out of the goodness of my heart, love.” That last word almost made my heart stop, but it was even worse when he bent over, grabbed my neck, and kissed me hard. I couldn’t speak, couldn’t think, couldn’t do anything…
I felt a pinch on my thigh, and I was about to slap Nick’s hand away, but then I saw he’d appreciated my remark. He was trying to look serious, but his eyes were shining as he held back a giggle.
couldn’t stop thinking of my fist crashing into that fool. The whole dinner, I’d been fantasizing about slamming him into the wall and using him as a punching bag. Mario couldn’t be with Noah—that was that.
“Tell me what you feel and I’ll give you what you want,” he ordered
“You’re precious,” he whispered in my ear after kissing me to keep me from shouting and getting us both caught.
“I’d do it all with you, Noah, you know that…but I won’t do anything until the fear disappears from your eyes.”
You look precious, Noah.
