The Spirit, coeternal with the Father and the Son, is the God of every age because God is the God of every age. All the work of the triune God, from creation through final redemption, is the work of the Holy Spirit together with the Father and the Son. These affirmations work against the heresy of modalism, which would suppose the Spirit is not truly God but only a way God acts sometimes.
